The foundation stone of the Holy Cross Convent was blessed on 10th October 1906.
The following year - 16th October 1907 - saw the official opening of the "Convent" as a Boarding and Day School.
The Chronicle of 1960 tells us, that the Kindergarten teacher Sr Anthony resigned after 50 years of teaching. There were 165 pupils from Kindergarten to Matrtic, boarders & day scholars with Sr Dympna as Principal. From 1961 - 1965 Sr Malachy was Principal, from 1966 - 1968 Sr John Thomas Disch and from 1969 - 1979 Sr Teresa Doyle. - In 1979 the Provincial Council decided to close the High School.
In 1980 with Sr Andrea as Principal (1980 - 1990), the Primary School had 66 pupils only. This number had even decreased to 45 in 1984.
At the end of 1992 the Boarding establishment was closed, the school continued as day school.
In 1993 the greater number of pupils come from Dukathole (by taxi). They stayed the whole day till 5 pm, as day-boarders, having lunch as well as morning and afternoon tea, which was discontinued in 2001. The number of pupils had increased to 140 in 1994, when Sr Canisia Faber became Principal. - Since 2005 Sr Bridget Cronin is Principal.

In July 2001 all Sisters (still living in the big school building) could move to the renovated “Assisi ”, as their Convent
Now it was possible to think of changes in the main building, especially also as the number of learners had increased.
At the end of 2005 the former dormitories and dining rooms were converted into classrooms , so that all 7 classes could be accommodated in the main building, with 2 Libraries, 2 Computer rooms and a big Science Room.
