National Bible Week at Holy Cross Primary School
HCPS had a wonderful week (21 – 27 August) celebrating “Bible Week”.
Already on Monday the Learners had fastened the names of the “Books of the Old Testament” and the “Books of the New Testament” on the stairs of the school.
In every the class room a special “Bible Corner” was prepared.
On Monday we had a special Assembly where each class performed a song about the Bible.
The Intermediate/Senior phase did a written Quiz on Wednesday. It took the form of multiple choice questions. The marks were added to the Friday Quiz.
After the Friday Assembly both the Foundation and Intermediate Phase had a Bible Quiz, where the Learners were divided into their “houses”: “Cheetahs, Panthers, Tigers”. The “Tigers” were the winners.
Something special on that day: We asked each Learner to dress up as a “Bible Character”. We were amazed at what the Learners tuned out… We thank our Parents for their outstanding effort.
We were very happy with our week. We hope that the Learners will read and love the “Word of God” more in their lives.
